Centre for Development Research

About Us

Welcome to the Center for Development Research. CDR is the most prominent and capable research organization, which maintains the true essence of research. Being a leading consulting firm, we conduct independent consultancy work.

Center for Development Research provides services to government, non-profit and private sectors. To change the socio-economic situation, CDR conducts research and evaluation on multidisciplinary projects.

Center for Development Research (CDR) is sponsored and partnered by the Development Initiative of Social Advancement (DISA), a new generation Micro-credit organization in Bangladesh established in 1993. With the vibrant leadership, mission, and vision of founding Executive Director Md Shahid Ullah, DISA now operates with 102 Micro-Finance Branches in 19 districts in Bangladesh with the mission to promote, uplift, and sustainable development of underprivileged people, especially women, youth, and children.

DISA trained marginalized people to improve socio-economic conditions, especially women and adolescents. DISA aims toward a productive, prosperous, and sustainable Bangladesh. To achieve this goal, DISA introduced many development projects.

  • DISA Institute of Science and Technology (DIST)
  • Aloghar Prokahsana
  • Aloghar Knowledge Information System
  • Aloghar Nursery
  • Aloghar Goat Farming
  • Matribhumi Fashion
  • Dairy and Livestock Development Programme (DLDP)
  • Matribhumi Dairy Foods Limited. (MDFL)
  • DISA Training Center (DTC)

Center for Research Innovation (CRI) was an independent research department of DISA. Now, it has changed to the Center for Development Research (CDR). Center for Development Research (CDR) is an autonomous research entity. Moreover, many national and international research practitioners, scholars and academicians conducted various studies. Center for Development Research (CRD) has published the following studies

  • “EMPLOYEE INSIGHT SURVEY, 2017: DISA Employees’ Job Satisfaction, Drop-out and Expectation”
  • Chasing The Dream: An Evaluation of Beef Fattening Programme at DISA
  • Impact of Technical and Vocational Training Programme on Socio-Economic Well-being of Training Participants of DIST
  • An Evaluation of DISA Health Programme: A shasthya shokhi perspective

Besides, we work with international scholars and educational institutions in Bangladesh and around the world. Center for Development Research (CDR) supports Ph.D. and Masters Students and runs students’ internship programmes.
